Conversion rate optimization

The cheapest trafficis the traffic youalready paid for.

If a hundred visitors produce two enquiries, doubling your traffic gets you four. Doubling your conversion rate gets you the same four, costs nothing per month, and makes every future visitor more valuable.

Overview

Most businesses trying to grow start by asking for more traffic. It is the intuitive move and it is frequently the wrong one, because it is the more expensive half of the equation and it does nothing about the leak.

Conversion work compounds in a way traffic buying does not. Improve the rate and every channel you run gets more efficient at once: your SEO, your ads, your social, your email, all of it.

Find where people actually leave

This starts with measurement rather than opinion. Which pages receive traffic and produce nothing. Where people stop scrolling. Which forms get started and abandoned. What the last thing somebody saw before leaving was. Most sites have two or three specific leaks responsible for the bulk of the loss.

The usual culprits

Slow loading, especially on mobile. Not stating plainly what you do and where you do it. Forms asking for more than is needed to reply. No pricing information of any kind. Buried phone numbers. Weak or absent proof. Calls to action that ask for a bigger commitment than the visitor is ready to make.

Change one thing at a time

Redesigning everything at once feels productive and teaches you nothing, because when the number moves you cannot tell which change did it. Sequential, measured changes produce both improvement and understanding.

Be honest about sample sizes

Most small business sites do not get enough traffic for statistically rigorous A/B testing, and pretending otherwise leads to confident decisions based on noise. Where volume is low we rely on established practice, qualitative evidence and before and after comparison over meaningful periods, and we say which we are doing.

Measure enquiries, not micro-conversions

Time on page and bounce rate are diagnostics. The number that matters is enquiries, and eventually revenue. A change that improves engagement while reducing enquiries is a failure regardless of how good the chart looks.

What is included

What the workactually involves.

Leak analysis

Where traffic arrives and dies, which forms get abandoned, and what people saw before leaving.

Speed and mobile

Usually the largest single recoverable loss, and usually the least glamorous to fix.

Message clarity

Saying plainly what you do, where, and what it costs to start. Vagueness converts badly.

Form and CTA work

Fewer fields, lower commitment asks, and one clear primary action per page.

Proof placement

Reviews, real work and specific results positioned where hesitation actually happens.

Measured properly

Tracked against enquiries, with honesty about what your traffic volume can and cannot prove.
