Marketing analytics and reporting

Half of your marketingworks. Analytics ishow you find which half.

Most businesses we take on are spending across several channels with no reliable way to tell which one produced the enquiry. That is not a reporting problem, it is a budgeting problem.

Overview

The old joke is that half of advertising spend is wasted and nobody knows which half. Digital was supposed to fix that, and it can, but only if the measurement is actually set up correctly. In practice it very often is not.

What we find when we look

Analytics installed but never configured, so it records visits and nothing else. Form submissions untracked. Phone calls, frequently the main way customers get in touch, not measured at all. Search Console never connected. Test traffic and staff visits inflating the numbers. Reports arriving monthly that nobody reads because they answer no question anybody asked.

Track the things that are actually worth money

Form submissions, phone calls, chat conversations, direction requests, booking completions. Not page views. A conversion should mean somebody did something with commercial value, and it should be possible to trace back which channel sent them.

Calls matter more than most setups admit

For a great many local businesses, most enquiries arrive by phone. If calls are not tracked, the channels driving them look like they are producing nothing, and budget gets cut from the things that are working. This is one of the most common and most expensive measurement failures we see.

Reporting a human being can read

A monthly report should answer three questions in five minutes: what did we do, what happened, what are we doing next. A fifty page automated dashboard with no commentary is a way of looking busy without being accountable, and we will not send you one.

You own the accounts

Analytics, Search Console and tag manager properties are set up in accounts you control, with us granted access. Historical data is one of the more valuable assets a business accumulates and it should not sit inside an agency account.

Privacy is part of the job

Consent handling, data retention settings and not collecting things you have no use for. Getting this wrong creates genuine exposure, and "the agency set it up" is not much of a defence.

What is included

What the workactually involves.

GA4 configured properly

Not just installed. Events, conversions, internal traffic filtered, retention set sensibly.

Call tracking

Because for most local businesses the phone is the main enquiry route and it is usually invisible.

Search Console

Connected, verified, and actually reviewed. The only honest source for what you rank for.

Conversion tracking

Forms, calls, chats and bookings tied back to the channel that produced them.

Readable monthly reporting

What we did, what happened, what is next. Five minutes, plain English, with commentary.

In your accounts

You own the properties and the history. We get access, not custody.
