Retained marketing services
Your marketing department,without the payroll.
For businesses that need marketing to happen consistently but cannot justify hiring a full internal team to make it happen.
Overview
Hiring a competent in house marketer is expensive, and one person rarely covers everything a business needs. A single hire is unlikely to be strong at search, design, copywriting, paid advertising, and analytics all at once, and if they leave, everything they knew leaves with them.
How a retained engagement works
We agree what needs to happen each month, we do it, and we report on it. Depending on the business that might be search work, content production, paid campaign management, social media, email, and the ongoing website changes that keep everything current.
One plan, not six suppliers
The alternative most businesses fall into is a web company, an SEO company, a social media freelancer, and somebody handling the advertising, none of whom talk to each other. Everything takes longer, nobody has the full picture, and when results disappoint each supplier can point at the others.
Scaled to your budget
We are honest about what a given budget can accomplish. A smaller monthly commitment means fewer things done properly rather than everything done superficially, and we will tell you plainly which things we would prioritise.
Twelve month agreements
We work on twelve month terms. Search, content and brand building simply do not produce meaningful results inside a couple of months, and a shorter arrangement tends to mean both sides abandon the plan before it has had a chance to work.
The commitment runs both ways. A year lets us invest in foundations that pay off in months six through twelve, rather than chasing quick wins that look good on an early report and lead nowhere.

Common questions
Questions weget asked a lot.
What is the minimum commitment?
Twelve months. Search, content and brand work do not produce meaningful results in a couple of months, and a shorter term usually means the plan gets abandoned before it has had a chance. We would rather be upfront about the term than surprise you with it at signing.
Can we start with a smaller scope?
Yes. The term is twelve months but the scope is yours to set. Plenty of clients start with one or two priorities and add services as results justify it, rather than committing to a large programme before either side knows how the relationship works.
Do you work alongside an internal marketing person?
Frequently. In that arrangement we usually take the specialist work such as search, paid campaigns, and development, while your person handles the things that benefit from being inside the business.
